The Countryside Society

Secretary David Newton – Holly House Hornby.

The Countryside Society holds meetings, usually illustrated talks, on the third Friday of October, November, January, February, March and April. Our interests are many things to do with the countryside, but chiefly Natural History and Local History. Some recent talks have been on Otters, Badgers, Butterflies, Spiders, Bridges of the Lune, Ice Houses, and the Hatters of Wray. Our membership currently includes people from seven villages of the Lune Valley as well as from Hornby.
