Hornby Drama Group

Ever thought of acting or being involved in a local Drama Group? Hornby Drama Group is a long established group that regularly performs at Hornby Institute (and elsewhere). We will soon be starting rehearsals for a play in June and are always looking for new members to join us as actors or to help backstage and front of house. There will be a further play in November. We meet on Wednesday evenings and some Sunday afternoons during the rehearsal period. Maybe you last acted in a school play many years ago? Perhaps acting is something you’ve always wanted to try? Contact our secretary to find out more – David Wright, telephone 015242 21473 or e-mail david@hornbydrama.org.uk – all ages welcome! Website: www.hornbydrama.org.uk

Hornby Scout Group

Hornby Scout Group is looking to open a Beaver Scout section for boys and girls aged 6 - 8 years old, and a Scout Troop for young people aged 10.5 - 14 years, but we need your help. Scouting is led by volunteers who have one thing in common, their passion to support children and young people and see them develop their potential. Could you spare some time to run a simple programme of activities for children in our community? Beaver Scouts enjoy anything from games, cooking, crafts, visits to nights away - you just need bags of enthusiasm, a sense of fun and energy to keep up with them. Scouts love anything that happens outdoors form survival skills and camping, to adventurous activities. Full training and support will be provided. For more information call Barbara Hughes on 07827 344135 or email: barbara.hughes@westlancashirescouts.org.uk
