Hornby Flower Club
In April 2013 a group of women decided to start a Flower Club in The Village Institute, in Hornby and two years later the club is going strong. The idea was to have a varied programme which would be inclusive and encourage anyone who had an interest in flowers to attend the meetings. We have had flower arranging demonstrations, workshops, specialists advising on growing plants, garden centre staff demonstrating planting containers and members of our local authority parks department entertaining us with the joys and tribulations of planting large areas of ground with bedding plants and their Gold winning attendances at Chelsea Flower Show.
As well as our usual monthly meetings we have arranged two charity nights raising money for Alzheimer’s Research, The Village Institute and St. John’s Hospice in Lancaster.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month unless indicated otherwise. New members are always welcome. For further information please contact Liz at the Flower Bank 015242 21510 or Pat 015242 21449
