Documenting the community: A documentary project in Hornby

A new project has been established to document the life of the village of Hornby, past and present, through the voices and eyes of its community. Using oral testimonies, photographs and other sources the project will build up a picture of life in the village within living memory. The result will be a valuable archive of recorded, written and photographic material. The project is working with a range of groups in the village including the Village Trust, local Brownies and Guides, the Friendship group for older people, as well as a range of local people. The material produced will be kept as an archive for the local and wider community and be part of the Hornby Festival in summer 2010.
