This has been a good year for us as we have a steady group of about 25 who meet each Tuesday at 7.00pm in Hornby Institute for the opportunity to sing together. The group sees itself as a community choir with singers who have been in choirs for many years and others with very little singing experience.
We enjoy the challenges set by Dan our musical director, singing in two part harmony (well most of the time) and we were very fortunate in July to take part in the Clitheroe Festival of Choirs which featured choirs from around the area singing in many venues and in the open air. Fortunately the weather was magnificent.
Our next outing will be in October when we are part of The Big Sing at the Platform in Morecambe. This is an annual event where choirs from the region sing to each other and it is wonderful to hear the talent we have in the North West. We have a couple of other concerts planned but more about that next time.
We don’t have any meetings in August but resume again on the 4th September in the Institute. We would be delighted to see you, pop in a see/hear what we do or for further information call Pat on 015242 21449.
